A great sketch show feels less like a show and more like a party, or a shared experience with the audience and performers. That’s why we were so excited when we got the submission video from The Intecollectuals, our new favorite Venice, CA-based sketch comedy group of the day.
The band of five comedy friends cultivate a party atmosphere with their shows and make it a point to hang out for drinks with the audience afterward; we’re going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s about the audience as much as it’s about the drinks. Their shows have won awards at Los Angeles Sketch Festival and gotten them sterling reviews at venues like the New Sketch Festival and the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival.
